Once you come in you will change into night clothes and get ready for bed as you do at home. The technician will then set you up and will start running the test. For best results we like to get at least 5-6 hours of data. A variety of electrodes and monitoring devices will be connected to you during the sleep test. While asleep, our registered technologist will monitor your brain wave activity, muscle activity, blood oxygen levels, airflow from your nose and mouth, and your chest and abdomen effort of breathing. The tests are usually finished by 6:00am the following morning. The collected data is then forwarded to the physician to determine if you have a sleep disorder.
